Terms of Service

1. Who we are, and who can use ORVO

ORVO ("we", "us") is currently built and run by an independent developer, not a registered company. You can reach us at support@apporvo.com.

You must be at least 16 years old to use ORVO. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that everything you tell us about yourself is accurate.

2. Your account

• One account per person. Accounts are for individuals, not shared or transferred.
• You are responsible for keeping your sign-in secure and for what happens under your account.
• Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access to your account.

You can delete your account at any time from within the app. Deletion is immediate and removes your profile, posts and messages from the live service — see our Privacy Policy for exactly what that covers and how long backups take to catch up.

3. Your content

Posts, comments, photos and everything else you share stay yours. By posting on ORVO, you give us a limited licence to store, display and distribute that content within the app, only so we can actually run the service — to show your post to your followers, for example. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies already visible to other people that we cannot reach into their device to remove.

You are responsible for what you post. Do not share anything you do not have the right to share, and do not post content that is false, harassing, hateful, or that violates someone else's privacy.

4. Organization profiles

Organization profiles — mosques today, and possibly other local groups in the future — are reviewed before they appear in search and carry an "Approved" badge once accepted. That review checks that a profile represents a real, active organization — it is not a guarantee that every detail on the profile (prayer times, photos, description) is accurate or current. If you spot something wrong, please report it.

Prayer times shown in ORVO are calculated automatically based on your location. They are provided as a convenience and are not a substitute for the announced prayer time of your own mosque, which always takes precedence.

5. Acceptable use

ORVO exists to bring a community together, so we ask you not to:

• Harass, threaten, or deliberately upset another person.
• Impersonate a person or organization you do not represent.
• Post spam, scams, or content unrelated to community life.
• Attempt to access another person's account, or interfere with how the app runs.
• Scrape, copy, or automate access to ORVO's content or infrastructure without our written permission.
• Use ORVO for anything unlawful, or that puts another person's safety at risk.

6. Reports, moderation and enforcement

You can report a user, post, comment, message, or organization profile that breaks these terms. We review reports and, where warranted, remove content, restrict features, or suspend or close an account. You can block another user at any time, which stops them contacting you or seeing your content.

Decisions that meaningfully affect your account are made or confirmed by a person, and we will tell you what happened and why. If you think we got it wrong, you can ask us to take a second look.

7. Donations

ORVO currently offers an optional donation to support the developer — it is not a payment for any feature or content, and it does not unlock anything. Donations to individual organizations, such as mosques, are not yet available.

All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your card details, and refunds are handled entirely by Apple under its own terms, not by us.

8. Intellectual property

The ORVO name, logo, and the app itself — its design, code, and features — belong to us. These terms do not give you any right to use our branding except to talk about ORVO as it actually is.

9. Copyright and DMCA notices

If you believe something posted on ORVO infringes your copyright, you can send a notice to our designated agent under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act:

Your notice should include: your signature (physical or electronic), identification of the copyrighted work, identification of the material you believe infringes it and where to find it on ORVO, your contact information, a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized, and a statement made under penalty of perjury that the notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act on their behalf.

If we remove content in response to a notice, we will tell the person who posted it and give them a way to send a counter-notice, as the law provides for.

10. Suspending or ending your access

You can stop using ORVO and delete your account at any time, directly in the app.

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or our Community Guidelines, or that we reasonably believe puts other people at risk. Where the issue is not serious, we will try to warn you first. You can always ask us to explain a decision.

11. The service "as is"

We work to keep ORVO accurate and running, but we cannot promise it will always be available, uninterrupted, or free of mistakes — including in organization information or calculated prayer times, as noted in section 4.

To the extent the law allows, ORVO is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Changes to these terms

We will update this page as ORVO changes. For anything significant, we will notify you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use ORVO after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, and any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in California. This is a reasonable default for now rather than a formal legal opinion — worth revisiting with a lawyer once ORVO has real scale or a registered company behind it.
